Week 7 football preview capsule: Humble at Atascocita

History: Atascocita is 7-3 all-time against Humble. The Eagles have won the past seven meetings, including a 67-13 game last year. Humble beat Atascocita three consecutive seasons from 2006-08.

Key player for Humble: Humble senior linebacker Juan Lolesio had a memorable homecoming game Saturday night. Against Channelview, Lolesio 14 totaled tackles (10 solo, three for loss) and picked off a pass and returned it for a 20-yard touchdown. Lolesio is up to 47 tackles on the season, tied for the team-high with Patrick Long. 

Key player for Atascocita: Oklahoma commit Tory Blaylock ran for over 150 yards and two touchdowns in an electric Friday night win over Summer Creek at a packed Turner Stadium. Blaylock is the son of ex-Kansas City Chief Derrick Blaylock.

Stat attack: McArthur Baker III celebrated his birthday with four touchdown runs in the 49-21 win over Channelview. Baker reached 10 touchdowns on the season. He had seven rushing scores combined in the last two seasons while mostly playing quarterback.

Notables: As noted earlier, Atascocita held off a late charge by Summer Creek for a 42-39 win last Friday in a matchup of Top 10 teams … The Eagles enter this week No. 5 in the state rankings and No. 24 in the MaxPreps national poll … Humble’s offensive output with a season high last Saturday night … The Wildcats had previously been averaging 18 points per game … Ryan LaCour had Humble’s fifth fumble recovery of the season in the win over the Falcons … Patrick Long blocked a punt and returned to the end zone for Humble’s first special teams touchdown of the season … Atascocita has notable wins over Katy and Austin Westlake this season and are averaging 42.2 points per game.
