Kingwood Park piles up 15 runs in 1st to breeze past Eagles

Kingwood Park blitzed Pasadena with 15 runs in the first inning Thursday afternoon as it won 17-0 in three innings.

The Panthers (12-7, 5-2) take the series sweep of the last-place Eagles (1-10, 0-8) while breaking a three-game losing streak which occurred during last week’s Humble ISD Tournament.

Seven Kingwood Park players had two or more RBIs as it piled up 17 hits.

Seniors Abbey Papadimitriou and Addi Gomez each homered. Papadimitriou also doubled on a 3-for-3 day and finished with three RBIs and three runs. The Sam Houston State commit also stole three bases. Gomez was also 3-for-3 with two runs and she totaled two RBIs.

Hadley Heineman and Allie Minick each doubled twice. Minick was 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Heineman, meanwhile, was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Lexie Barbontin drove in three runs and doubled on her lone hit. Samantha Barnes also doubled and was 2-for-3 with two runs. Janessa Rodriguez scored two runs while Ava Klinefelter was 1-for-4.

Haylee Seales pitched two innings with one hit allowed. She struck out three and walked two. Katie Summers pitched the last inning with one walk allowed.

Big home game coming on Friday for Kingwood Park against first-place Crosby. The Cougars won the first meeting 6-5 last month.
