This week in Kingwood Park softball (March 2-8)

No doubt, Kingwood Park is ready to play a regular season game at home.

After the postponement of the Humble ISD Tournament two weeks back due to cold temperatures, the Panthers have yet to step foot on their home surface in front of their family, friends and fans.

They will get to do just that on Friday night as District 18-5A begins against visiting Pasadena.

Kingwood Park (6-2) comes in hungry after suffering its first two losses of the season on a double-header at Port Neches-Groves last Friday night.

According to its GameChanger page, Pasadena has played just three games so far this season and are 2-1.

It wasn’t all bad news last week for Kingwood Park as it beat Livingston on Tuesday. Abbey Papadimitriou and Kendall Olson both homered and had three RBIs apiece in that one.

The Panthers were held to six hits against PN-G, which has won eight straight games.

Olson, Ava Klinefelter and Lexie Barbontin each drove in runs in the second game.

In games played last week, Pasadena scored 19 runs against Alief Elsik and 10 against Alief Taylor.

The Eagles were 4-10 last year and have largely struggled as a softball program for more than a decade.

This is possibly the first-ever meeting between the two programs as there is no game history listed on MaxPreps.
