On Tuesday, November 29th, The Willis Wildkats traveled to New Caney to take on the Eagles in the first 13-6A district matchup of the season. The Eagles came into the night with a 2-7 record on the season while the Willis Wildcats were 6-3. The Eagles enter the game coming off a dominant win against the Porter Spartans 49-0. The WildKats enter the game 1-1 coming off a loss to the Temple Wildcats 34-20. On a rain filled Friday evening in New Caney, where umbrellas and ponchos filled both sides of the stadium, we got our yearly “Battle Line on 59” game between the New Caney Eagles and the Porter Spartans. Long lines filled the sidewalks and entry gates as these 2 close teams prepared to battle. On a perfect Friday evening in Huffman Texas, the stadium was loud, the band was rocking, and the cheerleaders were pumping up the crowd. This only mean one thing; Friday night lights are officially back for the Hargrave Falcons, and they did not disappoint. Huffman Falcons 2022 season preview After finishing the 2021 season with an 8-3 record with a difficult loss to Kilgore in the 4A playoffs, the Huffman-Hargrave Falcons look to get back to their winning ways in 2022. They will do so with a new Head Coach and Athletic Director. Joey Buchta is replacing the former AD/HC Mike McEachern. McEachern spent 15 seasons as the athletic director for the Huffman Falcons and took them to the playoffs 13 of the 15 years.
